Reichert, Tsang Named To All-ACC Academic Team
July 25, 2008
GREENSBORO, N.C. --- North Carolina junior Laura Reichert and sophomore Katrina Tsang were named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Women's Tennis Team, league commissioner John Swofford announced this week. ACC Women's Tennis Scholar-Athlete of the Year Kristi Miller of Georgia Tech heads up the 23-woman squad. Reichert and Tsang were both key contributors for the No. 17 Tar Heels in 2008. Tsang was named to the All-ACC team for the second straight season after compiling a 16-8 mark playing at the top two positions. Reichert was a member of the regular lineup through the dual match season, finishing 14-11 in singles play. Duke, Georgia Tech, Miami and Virginia Tech each placed three players on this year's All-ACC Academic Women's Tennis Team. To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned at least a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained at least a 3.00 cumulative average during her academic career. In addition to Miller, this year's team features a second three-time honoree in Virginia Tech's Inga Beermann. Clemson's Estefania Balda Alvarez, Miami's Romy Farah, Georgia Tech's Amanda McDowell and Miami's Laura Vallverdu are other repeat selections from 2007.
