2007-08 (Freshman): The ACC champion in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 48.27...he was the first Tar Heel to win that event since Ted Brisson in 1998...set career best times in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 20.63 and in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 45.37, both swum at the ACC Championships...his career best in the 100-yard backstroke is 48.12, a time swum at a post-ACC meet time trial...his time in the 100-yard backstroke puts him in 2nd place in school...had a season best 48.18 in the prelims of the 100 fly at the ACCs...that time was short of his career high but it moved him into sixth place in UNC history in the event...in the championship final he finished eighth with a time of 48.56...swam the butterfly leg on the 200-yard medley relay that finished fourth at the ACC Championships with a time of 1:27.97, the new school record...swam a leg on three other relays at ACCs...earned first-team All-ACC honors.
